This study on nutrition and food hygiene for infants with diarrhea in the range of 0-2 years is planned to determine the knowledge and attitudes of mothers. The study has performed on 103 women whose infants have hospitalized for diarrhea at OMU Health Implementation and Research Center and Samsun Maternity and Children Hospital. The research has conducted by using Data Collection Form that aimed determining mother’s knowledge and attitude in case of diarrhea in infants by the sociodemographic characteristics of the infants and mothers. The obtained data has analyzed with frequency, percentage, chi-square and Student's t-test in SPSS 21 statistical software. In the study, %51,5 of infants are girls, the average age(years) of mothers is 27.78±4.42 and the average age(months) of infants is 13.92±7.29. It has determined that conditions which cause diarrhea and what to do in case of diarrhea had statistically significant difference by mother’s education level, income level, employment status and where they live. (p<0,005). While the educational level and socio-economic status were increasing, the knowledge and behavior level of mothers were increasing has statistically found significant. The result that is the sociodemographic characteristics of the mothers affected the level of information and behaviour about diarrhea has obtained.
